At KHARES, data analytics is about more than numbers and reports—it is about understanding the real experiences behind the data and using that knowledge to better support people living with kidney disease. We work with CMS and the ESRD Network Program to bring together trusted data sources, look for patterns, track progress, and identify where support may be needed most. By turning complex information into clear dashboards, reports, visuals, and practical insights, KHARES helps Networks, providers, patients, families, and partners make informed decisions, respond to emerging needs, and continue working toward better care and outcomes across the kidney community.
Kidney Health Analytics & Responsive Emergency Support (KHARES)
helps CMS and the ESRD Network Program connect people, information, and resources across the kidney community. KHARES turns data into useful insights, brings people together to share ideas and improve care, and helps the kidney community prepare for and respond to emergencies that may affect ESRD care. Across all this work, KHARES focuses on making information easier to use, supporting partners, and helping patients stay connected to the care they need.

Community Engagement
KHARES helps bring people together across the kidney community. We work with CMS, ESRD Networks, patients, families, caregivers, providers, federal partners, and kidney organizations to share ideas, learn from one another, and support better care. Through workgroups, Communities of Practice, town halls, educational resources, communications, and conference support, KHARES creates opportunities for people to connect and work toward common goals. This helps make sure patient and community voices are heard and that partners have the information and support they need to respond to challenges, improve care, and strengthen the kidney community.
Emergency Responsive Services
Our focus at KHARES is to build resilience by preparing the kidney community for emergencies and providing the needed response during every event. We work with CMS, ESRD Networks, dialysis providers, government partners, and community organizations to share information, solve problems, and help patients keep access to the care they need.
During emergencies, KHARES helps partners understand what is happening, what facilities need, and what may be getting in the way of patient care—such as closures, transportation issues, power or water outages, supply needs, or staffing challenges. Between emergencies, KHARES supports planning, training, and shared resources so the kidney community is better prepared.
